A widget is an onscreen control associated with a plugin parameter. A rack is simply a graphic space within which groups of widgets can be placed and labeled. Users typically create different panels to organize their controls in ways that are simple to identify and deal with in live performance.
A widget can be controlled onscreen or by linking it a physical control on a keyboard, control surface, or other MIDI or OSC controller. Once this mapping of parameters to widgets is done, Rig Manager makes it easy to quickly put all of these assignments under the control of a different physical controller, such as when it is necessary to play someone else’s master keyboard for a gig.
A widget assignment to a parameter will override a global physical assignment to the same parameter.
