In this article, you will learn why Gig Performer is the ultimate live performance platform—extremely easy, intuitive, and fun to use.
.

Why is Gig Performer the ultimate live performance platform

.
First, a couple of words about Gig Performer as the ultimate live performance platform. Gig Performer is a specialized live-plugin host designed to leverage VST plugins into a stage-friendly, performance-oriented environment. It has been around for almost a decade and was always true to its core goals.
.

1. Reliability

.
We all definitely want to enjoy the performance and not fret that something might go wrong. All the Gig Performer team members are also music makers and great efforts are invested in maintaining reliability. We have customers that have an extreme gigging schedule, for example Dave Schulz had 30 gigs in a single month!

The reason I got into Gig Performer was me being anal about the quality of my sounds. I always wanted to use plugins like Omnisphere, Trillian, Keyscape, these heavy CPU-intensive programs and I wanted to use a lot of them at one time. And Gig Performer is the first program, first opportunity for me to use these VSTs and not worry about crashing. That’s that’s the bottom line that’s that’s literally why I use it, because it doesn’t crash and I’ve actually gotten hired more because of it. – Dave Schulz

Therefore, in the Gig Performer world, reliability is of utmost importance.

Additionally, we provide you also with many best practices and tips on how to make rock-solid every aspect of your setup.

2. Musicians first!

.
This is also a very important aspect: you don’t have to be a recording or mix engineer to use Gig Performer! You don’t have to deal with channel strips, busses, aux channels, inserts and other concepts found on a DAW. Gig Performer uses a graphic interface to connect your plugins, making the whole process extremely intuitive. Incidentally, this is one of the reasons why Gig Performer is also used in other fields. Examples are live broadcasting, live streaming, or making YouTube covers.

Gig Performer is extremely easy and intuitive to use

.
Now that we have covered the key design goals for our ultimate live performance platform, let’s focus on intuitiveness and ease of use. The key concept here is our visual interface.

What could be easier than an icon representing your keyboard connected to an icon representing your synthesizer/instrument connected to an icon representing your audio output?

Gig Performer’s visual “connect anything to anything else” approach has been praised by our users. They find it simple, flexible, powerful, and extremely easy to follow what’s going on with the signal flow.

I come from the ‘70s, when, if you wanted to connect something in the studio, you used a patch cord. I love that way of doing things, and in an analog studio, that’s exactly the way everything was connected. To be able to do that now digitally with Gig Performer is amazing. 1. Gig Performer visual approach is extremely easy

.
In this YouTube video, Marty Wade demonstrates how easy it is to create patches in Gig Performer. Marty even included a stopwatch to measure how long it took him to create a professional patch from scratch.

This stopwatch idea inspired me to see how long it would take me to create a simple keys patch. Let’s suppose that I need to create a quick piano patch ASAP. I started from the blank project file (gig file), added the bundled KeysOfThe70s plugin and made the connections. I took this stopwatch test twice. The first time it took me 9 seconds. The second time I did it in 8 seconds. I bet I could have done it even faster. (I used the trackpad on my laptop. If I used a mouse, it would be even faster)

The well-known professional sound designer, Francis Capistrano @ NarfSounds , confirmed how easy it was to build sounds in Gig Performer.

I finished a sound pack of 16 songs in less than half the time it would take me to complete a pack on any other platform so that to me is a testament on how easy it is to learn and use. My Africa sound was done literally the day after I downloaded the software for the first time. — Francis Capistrano

2. Why our visual approach is more intuitive than the channel strips model

.
lass=”yoast-text-mark” />>Gig Performer eschews the traditional channel strip model in favor of a graphics interface, where a musician does not require a Ph.D. in audio engineering to design their sounds. Gig Performer’s way is the result of the finest blend of programming skills along with serious touring experience. We used an approach that we feel is not only easier, more intuitive but also superior to the legacy channel strip model. In this video, we demonstrate how Gig Performer’s graphic interface model beats channel-strips models for live performers.

I just completed my very first gig using Gig Performer, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how smooth and enjoyable the experience was! From setup to performance, Gig Performer exceeded my expectations and truly delivered on its promise of being a rock-solid, musician-friendly platform. A huge shoutout to the Gig Performer team for creating such a robust and musician-centered tool! Gig Performer is a nasty disease! Started with me on keys, then our guitarist switched to it, and now our singer is using it for his FX chain. It keeps spreading man!     — Jonny Roberts
